A crazy day of sorts

I never saw the day coming when I would just be so irritated, frustrated and downright mad at everything!  But it happened, and that was the kinda of day I had on Thursday January 26,2011!  So now that I have made my emotional state known you can only imagine what my eating was like...so let's get at it! 

Breakfast (started off good)
     White chocolate Latte
      Scrambled eggs w/ lentils & spinach

Mid AM Snack
     Greek Yogurt

Mid Am Snack #2
     Bag of Cheetos

Mid Am Snack #3
     Bag of Doritos

Lunch
     Roast Beef Sandwich, a pickle, rootbeer

Dinner
     Jack in the Box:  2 tacos & 4 chicken fingers

Much to my surprise I did go walk after work.  I ventured over to a new spot that I have been wanting to try.  I don't know the distance, but I walked for 40 minutes.  I went to this little park in Culver City off of Jefferson & Duquesne (sp?)  I walked around the park once and it took about 12 minutes.  It's a very small park.  So I decided to start walking down Jefferson.  As I was walking down Jefferson, I stumbled upon a spot with a big sign that said  Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook Trail.  So I went up it.  And why in the world did I do that?  Oh my goodness the thing was all hills!  I was up so high I could see the ocean!  Needless to say I was exhausted.  But I do want to try the trail again and take a camera with me.  The views from the top are wonderful!

Tuesday January 25th: Sleepiness!

Man, I am not sure what was going on with me yesterday but I was sleepy the entire day!  I left work about 30 minutes early, went home and got in bed and just slept!  I literally felt drained and exhausted.  I had little energy to do anything.  But I am up, bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning.

Here is the uneventful happenings of Tuesday

Breakfast
     White Chocolate Latte
      Scrambled Eggs w/ spinach & lentils

Lunch
     Veggie Plate (broccoli, spinach, lentils, ground turkey)

Snack (Sadly, I thought it would help give me some energy)
     rice krispy treat
     Vanilla wafers

Dinner
     Homemade Salad (lettuce, olives, lentils, ground turkey, italian dressing)

I think I fibered up too much on Tuesday.  I had so much gas its ridiculous.  And I dont know if anyone has ever experience this but I have really bad gas pains in my back.  Have you had gas pains in your back?  It is really painful!  Sorry to be discussing this, I know this conversation has taken an ugly turn, so I will stop.  Talk to you later!

Monday Recap

WOW.  My apologies, When I got home last night, blogging was the furthest thing from my mind.  So here I am blogging to you today.  Monday was a decent day.  I have not been keeping my calorie & fiber log, but I know yesterday was a high fiber day.  Things were flowing..ohhh wee.   Well let's get to the important stuff.

Breakfast
     White Chocolate Latte
      Scrambled eggs w/ lentils & spinach

Lunch
     Veggie Plat (Broccoli, Brussell Sprouts, Lentils, Ground Turkey)
     20 ounce bottle of Pepsi

Dinner
     Pollo Bowl from El Pollo Loco

Water Drinking was low today...I only had about 4 glasses of water.  But I will up that today so I can help get some of this "fiber" out of me!  As you know Monday is weigh in day.  I was only down 1 pound.  Nothing for me to worry about.  I always feel like PMS time teh scales are never pleasant.  But such is life. 

Workout - an attempt to push myself
Did another 30 minute stint on the treadmill.  Still doing walk/jog intervals.  I pushed myself today and did 2 jog intervals at 5mph!  And good greif I felt it in my legs and abs as the day progressed. 
Calories burned: 389.2; distance 1.83.  I am still aiming to make 2 miles in my 30 minutes.  I should stop being so lazy and walk faster on the walk intervals!  :0)  That will be next week's area for improvement.

Weekend Recap

Howdy Partners.  I need to work on keeping up my blogging over the weekend. 
The weekend eating was not good at all.  I gave into every craving I had.  :0(  I did get to walk the neighborhood on Saturday.  I walked for 90 minutes.  Sunday I did no excercise. 

I attended a time share presentation on Saturday and got 2 free trips!  So all in all not a bad weekend.

Friday..Success

The day started off shaky.  I started my period yesterday and as always I am always in alot of pain the first few days of PMSing.  So this morning and throughout the night I had really back back pain.  Even though I took advils and all that jazz.  I woke up in the middle of the night and grabbed my heating pad.  That seems to be the only thing that helps my back.  Anywho, since my back was killing me, getting out of bed was a challenge.  I get to work about 15 minutes late and I was in a mood.  So what's the first thing I do?  You know the answer:  FIND FOOD!  So here's the eats for the day!

Oh this morning laying in bed on my heating pad, was for nothing!  I had a great idea.  I told myself this morning that afterwork, I would walk in the neighborhood and then hit a movie.  And guess what?  I actually did it!  I was so happy for me!   I went to see The Dilemma with Vince Vaughn & Kevin James.  It was a cute movie.  Just okay though, not overly funny.

The day where time stood still

Today was a very slow moving day!  Good gracious, I could not wait for the workday to end!
I said for hte new year I want to stop buying coffee.  So over hte weekend I bought some ground coffee and coffee creamer and said I would starting using my coffee maker at home and make my coffee.  Well low and behold today I actually made coffee at home!  I surprised myself!

    scrambled eggs w/ lentils & spinach

     Veggie Plate (brussel sprouts, spinach, Ground Turkey)

That was it!  Can you believe it?  Of course not.  Neither can I!  It was probably for hte best.  There were some serious prayer needs today, so its was probably best that  I didn't need much.  So much is going on this world.  It is really a time for prayer and fasting.  People are dying, people are getting sick, families are being broken up, so much anger, hurt, and disappionts that are causing many to lose hope.  Sigh.  I am always saddened when I hear about teenagers that commit suicide.  It's a hard thing to hear.  Whoever is out there that may read this today, tomorrow or 500 years from now, please know that there is always hope!

I feel like a little kid....

Howdy!  It was hard staying inside a building today when its so beautiful outside.  I asked to leave work early so that I can go play in the sun!  And I did!  I left work and went to a park.  I should have walked but nah I didn't I just sat and read.  It was a well needed break.

Nothing to exciting happened today.  Again a day of excessive munchies.

Tired as can be!

Wowzers!  I am tired.

Got up this morning and hit hte scale.  I was satisfied with my results.  I am grateful for any weighloss!

It was another Summer in January day here in SoCal.  So I hit hte beach!  I walked on the beach for an hour and a half!  I learned a lesson today...I need new walking shoes.  My feet are killing me!  I am not gonna lie, it was a tough walk.  When I was heading back to the car, I struggled, I had little life in me!  I am tempted many times to catch a bus on Ocean Blvd Back to my car!  I think I am gonna go to bed right after I finish this.

     Cherries (lost count of how many, but it was alot)  I love cherries!

I just finished making my veggies for lunch this week.  I need to wash my hair, but I am so not in the mood for that right now.  So I think I will iron my work clothes and hit the sack early!

Weekend Recap

Friday started off early. I was up at 2:30am at the gym @ 3am.  I was a bit reluctant about being back in the gym.  I have not been since the middle of December.  I downloaded this app on my Iphone called Get Running: couch to 5K running plan.  So I said what the hay day, lets give it a shot.  I am to run 3 days a week on this plan.  The first day (today) the plan called for a 30 min training session in intervals.  Run for 1 minute, walk for 1:30 minutes.  Not to bad sounding huh?  It was actually doable.  Once I started the app it had a little coach that came on, and told me the goal for the session.  It talked to me every now and again, through the session.  I told me when warm up and cool down started.  It told me when to start & stop running, and when to start & stop walking. All in all I was pretty darn impressed! Gotta love free apps on the Iphone and this is definately one I plan to continue to use!

AM Workout
     30 minute Treadmill  406.9 calories burned.  1.79 miles completed. 
     **At some point I want to be able to get to finish at least 2 miles in 30 minutes.  I need to run/walk faster I guess

**Brief Sidebar:  Once I left the gym, I was starving.  My little mind told me to go to Denny's for breakfast.  I Drive to the Denny's by my house and guess what?  They were closed!  I was shocked.  Then my mind said, go to Jack in the Box, they are also open 24 hours.  I drove down to Jack in the Box and guess what?  Jack in the Box was closed too! So I drove my little self to 7-11 and got me 2 bananas & a bottle of vitamin water.

The weather was beautiful this weekend.  I spent alot of time outside.  But not much time walking or doing anything active.  It is hard to get yourself back to physical activity after being lazy for so long.  Oh WEE!  Even though I did not make it to excercise, I was mindful about my food intake.  I did have a splurge of wingstop on Friday, adn then Mexican Food on Sunday.  But the Mexican Food was my only meal for the day.

I drank a ridiculous amount of water today.  So ridiculous I lost count.  But I was surely more than 8 glasses!  That's all!  Can you believe it, I had no cheating snacks all day!  Yeah Me!

On off day...

Howdy!
Today was just one of those days that something was not right.  Something was just a tad bit offf and I can put my finger on it.

Today was an uneventful day, but I was struck with a serious case of hte munchies today.  I had 2 bags of chips, almonds, and sour punch straws in addition to my veggies!  Today I also had some really bad gas, Brussel sprouts & squash is not a good food combination.  Trust me!

I have been decieved!

I searching for an all natural protein powder I ran across a product called Garden of Life Raw Protein.  I looked at reveiwas online and all these people said it was so good.  Some people even suggested making it with almond milk.  So me being hopefully bought the protein powder on friday and even bought some almond milk.   On Saturday I mixed the protein powder as instruction.  1 scoop w/ 8 ounces of water or other beverage.  I used the almond milk. 

I could not even get the powder to mix into the milk.  Problem #1.  So I added more milk, that helped a little.  Then I wen to go taste it.  I felt like I was drinking liquid chalk.  Problem #2.  I ended up having to throw the whole thing down the drain!  It was horrible.  So me being the thinker that I am said.  Maybe if I use less powder and blended it with a banana it would taste better.

So brilliant me is at work today.  I bust out my blender, my protein powder and my almond milk and get to working my magic.  I blended it up and stuck in the freezer.  I am almost able to get anything down if its nice and cold.  Here it is almost noon and I went to pull the protein shake out of the freezer.   Granted it does taster better cold, with less powder, adn more liquid, but it still has a horrible after taste!

Thursday (1-6) Recap & Status

Currently I am sitting here at my desk eating lunch.  I started to think about this week.  I have made it all week on mostly veggies only.  I am even more impressed that I did not stink up the office nor did I crap myself on the freeway or even while at work.  It was not a 100% perfect journey, but I am grateful for the change of pace and to show myself I can do better with my eating.

Yesterday I really struggled with my eating.  I had trouble staying on target as you can see.  But what can I do.  I tried.  I did drink alot of water again, but I forgot to count the ounces.

Veggie Day #1 - Monday January 3rd

I can't rememebr if I mentioned or not, but in an attempt to break my eating I am doing 2 weeks of eatting vegetables.  Today was my first day.  I started this off my cooking alot of veggies on Sunday night and plated them up in those divided plates.   In addition to my veggie dishes, we are fasting from 8am - noon liquids only. These blogs probably won't be too exciting over the next few weeks, but I am still gonna write them. 

Breakfast
     Banana (eaten before I left the house)
     Disclaimer:  I am fully aware that a banana is not a vegetable nor is it liquid!

Lunch
     Veggie Plate (Brussel Sprouts, Black Beans, Yellow Squash)

Then I got home, and I was hit with a serious case of the munchies.  So here are the munchies that got munched.

     3 Hershey Kisses
     1 pc of Godiva Chocolate
     1 banana

On the upside I did drink 64 ounces of water.  I am starting to feel a little under the weather so I did no excercise, but that will change today, I promise!

First Day of the new year....

I hope the way I spent this day is not how I will spend the rest of the year.

I started off with a trip to It's A Grind Coffee Shop for a cranberry Bagel w/ cream cheese and a white chocolate cafe mocha.  Ran some errands, looked at 2 townhouses.  Went home and got into bed.  About about 12:30 I left to go find me something to eat.  This trip lead me to Taco Bell.  Eating my oh so favorite tacos & quesadilla! 5:30p I am scavening for food again.  I am seriously craving some Wing Stop, but my laziness won't allow me to dress, comb my hair and drive over to wingstop.  So into the fridge I go and opened up the bag of fresh express salad and ate it.

What a completely unproductive day!  It was so nice outside when I went out around noon, I had told myself to take advantage of the weather and walk in my neighborhood.  I didn't do it!  

I am going through some of the pictures that were taken while I was in Vegas.  My sister was oh so inconsiderate and took a video of me bowling.  So in true blog fashion...I am posting it!  I did tell myself I would post any and all pics of myself so I had a record of my weight loss or in this case weight gain!

Looking at pictures or videos of oneself is such a reality check!  Oh wee.  Gotta get back on track.  That's all I got for ya.  See ya later!
