Still Fighting the cravings....

Man..PMS week is definately a physical & mental fight!

Yesterday I feel like I lost the physical battle since I gave into my tiredness, sleepiness & weakness and did not go to spin class.  I didn't even go walk yesterday.  I did no physical activity!  Shame on me!  The very least I could have done, (and I wish I had done) is at least go for a walk.  But nonetheless, I let it go and move forward.

Today I am not in as much pain, but my body...all my flesh...is just sending my signals to eat all kinds of things.  I started this morning with the thought of getting a White chocolate latte, then It was telling me to go get an omelette, a hamburger, candy, Pepsi.  In all honesty...I sat at my desk at work and had to take inventory of my thoughts.  I said wow..these thoughts are not from me.  As I checked my hunger and my feelings...I was not hungry..I really didn't need anything to eat I was fine.  I am so glad I took the time to take inventory...any other time in the past I would so be indulging in all those things.  I gave into those indulgences on Monday, and I told myself I had to stop...so I am stopping myself.  Enough is enough.  I have seen how those 1 day indulgences take me back into a lifestyle I don't want to go back to.  I really really really, don't want to go back there.  I really don't...I've made too much progress to allow the "old eating habits" to even creep back in!  So yesterday's fight was physical, today's fight is mental!  But still a fight, and just as hard to overcome as yesterdays!  But I am determined not to be ruled by my appetites!

Breakfast
     Black Coffee w/ vanilla creamery

Mid AM Snack
     Apple

Lunch
Salad (lettuce, spinach, carrots); lemon juice for dressing

Dinner
Chicken & 2 tortillas (I need to leave this tortillas alone)

Workouts
30 minutes with Trainer (obstacle course & heavy weights...ouch)

Pushing myself through my PMS blues....(recap Thurs 28th)

Oh My goodness!  Woke up with mega cramps of the day..as I got to work they progressed into an intense pain I have not felt in a while.  So I spent most of the morning cursing and thinking obsecenities!  Once I got to work I rememember my beloved co-worker Bill, has some super high dosage ibuprofen!  So off to his desk I went.  I got 2 pills of 600mgs (so total of 1200mg) of IB and took 'em.  Do you know those bad boys did nothing but made me sleepy?  At 12-noon I was still in much pain, and ended up going in the car to catch a power nap.  I overslept during my power nap...OOPS!  But that nap did wonders..I officially now feel better.  I am also grateful to Sharon who keep a heating pad in the office.  I also had that on my stomach and back all morning.  I was having killer back pain as well.

Breakfast
     Cup of Berry Detox Tea
Omellete (eggs, spinach, mushroom) I intentionally did no cheese

Mid AM Snack
     2 crackers
     smidgen of cheese

Lunch
Salad (lettuce, cabbage, carrots, tomato, cucumbers, egg) lemon juice for dressing

Finally 3pm came and it was time to go home.  I feel so week and still a little pain in my back.  But got home and just laid down.  Thursday is usually my day to go to spin class, but I could not imagine going to spin the way I was feeling.  I also learned from past experience sitting on those tiny little seats while on my period makes things even that much more uncomfortable, and then my pad gets wedged into places that I don't think its meant to.  So the point of this story is, I didn't go to spin.

Dinner
     Chicken Breast & 1 Wing
     2 tortillas

Too much Tuesday...

Yup...today's Title Too much Tuesday.  Sometimes I try to be too helpful, that I end up doing too much!  It was a crazy day.  Once I left work I was running all over L.A.  just doing way way way too much!  But none the less, the day is coming to an end.  So here is the day in review:

Breakfast
     Yogi Berry Detox Tea

Mid Am Snack
     Apple

Salad w/ Salmon (lemon juice for dressing)

     30 mins Personal Training.

Current Status: Tired as can be!

Tata!

Monday in shameful retrospect

They day started off great!  I was pleasantly surprised with the scale this morning.  It really did help and an extra pep to my step for the day. Then the rest of the day is pretty shameful!

I have nothing exciting to report so I will just get straight to the boring stuff.

Breakfast
     2 scrambled eggs
     1 slice of ham

AM Snack
     Apple

Lunch
Cobb Salad w/ 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinagriette & Lemon juice for dressing

Then at some point in the afternoon I jut had a craving from some beef jerky.  There is a little organic place across the street from work called Mrs. Winstons.  So over to Mrs Winstons I went, I bought 2 packages of Organic Grass Fed Beef Jerky.  Long Story short...i ate both packages before the night ended.  I ate a pack in the car on the way down to the Arthritis Foundation and the other pack when I left the arthritis foundation and was going home.

Then I was at the Arthrits Foundation, one of the ladies gave me 2 Japanase Rice cookies.  Which of course I ate.  They were pretty darn tasty!  Then I visited the office with the candy...got a snack size Kit Kat, and 2 Hershey Kisses, which I again I ate.

So here is a list of the other crap I ate:
     2 packages of Beef Jerky
     2 Japanese Rice Cookies
     Snack size Kit Kat
     2 Hershey Kisses

So after today, you can see it is really time to buckle down and wire my mouth shut!  All this snacking and eating all because it PMS week!  Sigh...it's time to fight against the cravings!  I refuse, absolutely refuse to gain weight this week!

AND NO  WORKOUTS...SMH!!!

Order to Confusion...

Yo Yo Yo.  What it do?  Well over all today was a great day!  I started the morning off with a very ambitious neighborood walk.  I don't live far from Fox Hills Mall and today, I made that my goal.  To walk to Fox Hill & back!  And by George I did It!  Total trip was just under 5 miles!  It was great starting off the day with a sense of accomplishment.

Second task of hte day, church meeting.  We are moving into a new building, so we got together to check the place out.  It is a nice little place we have a room for church and a room for kids church.  So we will spend the next couple of weekends cleaning up and setting up the place so we can start having church there the beginning of August.

Next task of hte day...buying book cases.  Well my 2nd bedroom has been well, it turned into the junk room.  Everything that I didn't know what to do with ended up in the 2nd bedroom, and I also still have my books, CDS and DVDs in boxes in there.  So today, I decided to take advantage of the wonderful sale at target and purchased 2 bookcases from Target.  They were on sale for $15!  So I am happy to report the shelves are together, books, cds and DVD have been unboxed!  So much progress has already been made in that room.  I have such big dream for my new office space.  I am happy I took the time to get that stuff organized in there.  So I am pretty darn tired right now.

Just laying back, and just watched an episode of NCIS and Law & Order SVU just started @ 10pm.  It has been a while since I watched SVU.

Well here is the eats for the day:

Breakfast
     Chicken & Cucumber

Lunch
    Salad w/ the broccoli slaw

Dinner
Sliced tomato & the gaucamole salsa from El Polo Loco
     * i must say that salsa is really good and tasted excellent on my tomato!

Workout
     AM Neighborhood Walk...4.8 miles.

Fitness Friday

Wow...I started the day off oversleeping!  Way to end the week.  And I woke up starving, I guess that is hte down side to misisng dinner.  I had the breakfast of champions though.  I did eat a pretty big breakfast.  It was rather tasty.  Work was actually better today.  Thankfully.  Now next week gotta work on openning 2 new accounts and getting some KYCs completed so I can open up another set of accounts.  Its the terrible circle of life that is my job!  Paperwork after paperwork.  Sigh.

Breakfast
Omelette ( 2 eggs, spinach, mushrooms, cheese)
     2 pieces of bacon

Lunch
    1/2 tomato
    some cucumbers
Side salad (lettuce, carrots, red cabbage)
slick of Greek bread (i think thats what its called)

Workout
I had an awesome 30 minute Boxing Bootcamp workout with my personal traniner!
It was tough, but good stuff!

    41 minute (2 mile) walk
     Endomondo walk info: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/gq1rLq9Dg9Q

Dinner
2 cups of Salad with a twist  *new thing I tried*
     Ingredients:
          Bag of Salad  Mix
1/2 bag of Broccoli Slaw (chopped up, uncooked Broccoli, carrots, & red cabbage )
          juice of 1 lemon
          1/2 cucumber diced
          2 tomatoes
         chopped up chicken meat
It tasted really good.  The Broccoli slaw allowed me to get additional veggies, and it added a  nice little crunch to the salad.  I think i like it!

A much needed Mental Day...(Wednesday 20th)

Well today (wed) I took a mental day.  Called in sick at work and spent the day just destressing and relaxing.  It was nice to sleep in late.  Just lay back without a care or worry in the world.  It was great!  I need to schedule more of these.  It was really a delightful day, even though all I did was watch tv and sleep!

I got to watch marathons of CIS Las Vegas & NY.  Caught some old Office episodes I had not seen, even just watched the news.  As boring and uneventful that may sound, it was very relaxing.

Well My eating today was a little wierd cause I just ate whatever I had prepped at the house which oddly enough was not much.

Breakfast
     Chicken Breast
     1 fillet of Cod Fish
     *wierd combo I know*

Lunch
Salad (lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, bacon bits) & some Braggs vinagriatte dressing.  w/ the last chicken breast left over from yesterday

Cravings of hte day...for some odd reason my body and my mind for htat matter is trying to trick me into drinking soda.  I kid you not, I was in the car on my way to Ralphs's grocery store to ge bottled water, and I heard, I sprite would taste so good right now!  But I had to recognize that evil voice and dismiss it.  IT has been over 30 days since I have put any kind of sodas in my system and I refuse to let myself get back on that path.

But that was the day...a real mental day, didn't even workout.

Thursday Hodge Podge

Today...another day from Hell.  I need to make a job change.  I think its time.  I don't know how much of this I can handle.  It is hard to stay motivated and excited about work when you have no interest in it.  I openly admit that I have a bad attitude when I am at work, but I really dislike work!  I really do.  As I was driving to work I was already formulating which temp agencies I was going to contact and send my resume to.  And when I got in the office what was the first thing I did?  Did some job searches!  And what did I find?  A Treasury Analyst position, it looks pretty reasonable and it looks like its something I could do.  SO I spent some time updating my resume.  Sent it out to a few people for revisions and pointers.  So tonight Robert Half Finance & accounting received my resume for hte position.  I pray that a door opens here, but none the less, its in God's hands.  He sees my frustrations and he knows my heart.  I am really ready for a change.

Okay made it to spin class tonight.  First time for the week.  This time I went to the gym in Hawthorne. I had 2 things going against me.  I wore new tennis shoes that I recieved today...and darn they were so fricking uncomfortable!  I won't do that again!  And the teacher I was expecting to teach was not teaching.  Instead of getting Dee for the class, it was Jeanette, and I dont like her as an instructor.  She never got on a bike.  She walked the room and dance to the music the whole hour.  That really irritates me when instructors do that.  Well at least its done and over with and I got to cycle away my work frustrations.

So to the boring stuff....

Breakfast
I bought a cup coffee from Coffee Bean and I barely drank it, but it was breakfast

Mid AM snack
     2 hard boiled eggs

Lunch
     Cobb Salad
     * I give myself kudos here, cause when I eat Cobb Salad I love to have blue cheese dressing.  But today i stayed away from the Blue Cheese and just squeezed lemon juice as my dressing!  This is a big change for me!

Dinner
Well its just after 8pm and I am really not even hungry.  So I think I may pass on the dinner!

Workout
    1 hour Spin Class
    30 minutes personal trainer

Tata its time to focus on the So you think you can dance Result show!

Recap Tues the 19th

Man, yesterday was a very stressful day at work.  I really really hated being there every second of hte day.  I was bombarded with a whole bunch of crap to do.  Could not really focus on any one thing, and getting ever the more irritated as the day went by.  I was borderline angry by the time 3pm came around and it was time to go home. So here is my activities for the day:

Breakfast
    Berry Detox Tea

Lunch
A huge salad with pieces of Cod
Alot of my Tomato/cucumber concoction from Saturday

Dinner
6 pieces of Chicken (get ready for this)
So I was driving home from work with the intention to get home and change to make it to Spin class in Torrance @ 5:30.  Somewhere in my 20 minute commute home, I talked myself into going to El Pollo Loco for some chicken.  I told myself I need some protein.  So I get to El Pollo loco and they have 8 pieces of chicken for $10.  So I bought it.  I got home, and got to eating.  By the time I stopped myself I only had 2 pieces of chicken left in the styrofoam container!  SMH!

Workout
     30 mins w/ personal trainer
**needless to say I didn't make it to spin class!

Somethings off...

Have you had one of those days where something just felt off, but you didn't know what it was?  I had and am still having that kind of day today.  I don't feel right, something is off and I can't put my finger on what it is.  Sigh.  Not sure what to do or think, I guess these are the times where getting quiet and talking to God is important.  I need to have a good one on one with him.  I have so much on my heart and my mind, I do need to just release.

Well here is the food for the day.  Now that reflect on my emotions & feelings for the day I see why I ate as I did.

Breakfast
     Black coffee
     2 hard boiled eggs
     2 slices of bacon

Lunch
     Grilled Chicken
     Broccoli
     Squash

Dinner
    The leftovers from lunch

Workouts
45 mintes of Street Rider bike ride @ Santa Monica

One thing I notices while I was riding is that there was salt coming out of my pores.  That has not happened to me in a long long time.  I guess those pieces of bacon was enough to add too much salt to my system?  I am glad I got a good sweat in so I can flush out my system.  Gotta increase my water intake so I can flush it all out.  Well that is all for now.  I am off to the chicken to make some fish.  Cod to be exact.  Will take a few days off from eating chicken.  I love fish!

Scale Whisperer...

This Monday is a Hmmm...Monday.  Results not as expected.  But I did veer off my strict eating this weekend and I certainly did not work out as much as I should.  Need to stay disciplined during the weekends.

Saturday Stride to Santa Monica!

Well gang I made it back to Venice Beach to use my vouchers for the StreetStrider bikes.  It was alot better this time!  The lady gave us 8 speed bikes as opposed to the 3 speed bikes.  The 8 speeds are definately easier to ride!  I had a really good time.  We rode from Venice Beach past the Santa Monica Pier.  Round Trip I believe its like 4 miles!

Tried a new recipe today.  It's my variation of the Cold Tomato Summer Vegetable Soup Recipe.   The Recipe is below.  The recipe seems simple, but it was time consuming to cut all the veggies.  I tried to stick everything in the food processor, but I only have a 3 cup processor.  So that added to my slowness.  So far I like it.  the receipe indicates it taste better the day aftter.  So I will try it tomorrow and see how everything thing taste once all the seasonings mingle.

Cold Tomato Summer Vegetable Soup Recipe

Note, dad says to chop the zucchini finer than what is pictured in the photo.

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh, ripe tomatoes, seeds removed (cut tomatoes in half, squeeze out seeds into a sieve over a bowl to catch the juice, use the juice, discard the seeds), chopped

  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped fine (left out)
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped fine (left out)

  • 2 zucchini, chopped fine
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion, chopped fine

  • 1/4 cup sherry vinegar (used apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano (or pinch of dry)
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth (left out)

The Un-Frantic Friday

So Friday is here.  The day that the 405 was to be shut down.   I for one was very concerned about the commute home today, but luckily, I was able to leave work early so I avoided any craziness.  So far nothing crazy has been reported, so I think everyone took head to the notices that went out.  You got to love technology, they even have a live web feed of the freeway where they will be demolition the bridge.

http://www.myfoxla.com/generic/traffic/carmageddon-mulholland-bridge-camera

Oh I made a new purchase today.  I bought a skirt.  I went to Avenue afterwork to buy a belt and while I was browsing the store I saw this really cute  tan skirt.  I tried it on first in a size 24 and it was too big!  So I went and got a size 22!  I was so excited!  I love the skirt very cute.  Nice and light for summer and I may be able to pull it off breifly in the fall with a turtle neck and some boots.  That is my vision anyway.  I will have to take a picture and share later.

Did okay on the eats today  so let's get at it.

A Little Dieting Humor

I can't remember where I found this graphic. But I love it!

Totally Tired Thursday...

Howdy gang!  I don't know where the day went yesterday.  But I conked out before I could even post anything.  I was a little bad yesterday.  I veered off of my eating only organic & natural foods thing.  A new caterer in town decided to bring to the office a sample lunch so we could test out the menu.  I went overboard and paid for it dearly.  I was so sick, I had diarrhea, and It just was sick from about 1:30pm until I went to bed.  After being purged during the last 30+ days from processed foods, my system did not take well to what I ate at lunch.

Breakfast
     Cup of Yogi Berry Detox
     5 Strawberries

Lunch
     Pasta Salad
     Orza Pasta
Grilled Halibut w/ some kind of tapenade on it (it was delicious)
Grilled Eggplant, Grilled Zuchini, Grilled Squash

No workouts today!  I just could not do it.  Will make up for it today and over the weekend.  Talk to you guys later.

Boxing Beatdown....

Well I am going to blog this day, how it went.  Since I was not able to get into a boxing class on Tuesday night.  I opted for the 6:30am class today!   So I got up packed my work clothes, dress for class and off I went.

     4 Strawberries

AM workout
1 hour Boxing (My commentary is at the bottom)

After Boxing eats/First eats in the office
     1/2 grapefruit

So today I am experiencing a hunger pain that I have not felt in a while.  Wow.  The guy that sits next to me in the office went and got a Roast beef sandwich.  It smelled oh so tempting and delish!  I was so ready to run downstairs to get one.  I love the Roast beef they make down stairs.  So after this great tempation, Off I went to the Kitchen to make lunch.  I'm guessing the Spin & boxing really burned some calories that I was feeling so hungry today.
Lunch
A huge huge salad w/ chicken and I even crumble 1 Melba Toast in it, to get that crouton effect!

PM Workout
30 minutes Cardio/strength traning with Trainer

Dinner
     My tomato & Cucumber Concotion

Commentary
Holy Bat Crap Batman!  Boxing is hard as heck!  I got beat down by Boxing.  What was I thinking by signing up for that.  It was absolutely tiring!  Not only did we box, we had to do, sit ups, push ups, lunges, squats, weight lifting and boxing!  It was definately a challenge and a good work.  Barely made it through the class and almost died!  I was about to head for the light a couple of times.    But I am oh so Glad it is over!  Now my review of L.A. Boxing...they need air conditioning.  There was about 20 people in class and no A/C!  It ridiculously hot!  Otherwise the staff was very friendly.  THe instructor Mike...nice guy & he's a cutie!  :0)  He kept telling me to hit the bag like I was angry.  Which is hard to do, cause I am not angry.  He is already trying to get me to sign up for classes!  Which I think I want to do but I need more practice.

So that is it.  Tata!

Serene Sundays...

I like to keep my Sunday's on the cool relax tip.  Try not to do to much and just prepare myself for the week.  So not too much out of the ordinary stuff today.   I started my morning early with a nice walk in the neighborhood.  The downside or upside, depending on how you want to look at it, about living near Ladera Heights is all the darn hills!  Seems like every street I turn on had an incline!  But I guess I should be grateful, it helps burn more calories.  Towards the end of my walk I was approached by this white guy, he was a foreigner, I am guessing Russian on a bicycle.  He comes and asks me, Do you walk here all the time.  And I said no, just every once in a while.  Then he says well you look great!  It took everything in me, to not laugh!  So here we go:

Breakfast
     Apple

Lunch
My cucumber/Tomato concoction (it was even more delish than yesterday)
     Chicken
Dinner
     Salad
Workouts
     1 hour neighborhood Walk  http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/iPa19wJXdM0
1 hour Walk Dockweiler Beach http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/saJlXDd3y8g

Finished off the night prepping my lunches and dinner for the week.  Ironed and resting, chilling out in front of the TV watching the Criminal Minds Marathon!  Caught a few episodes I didn't see.  Thats all folks!  Tata!

Had Some Crazy Fun!

Well gang...I made it through my StreetRider Experience and my re-introduction to Rowing.  So lets starting with rowing.  I have a picture & a little amatuer Iphone video.  But boy..that bike was hard to get started.  It required both arm and foot movement to get it going.  It took me a while to get the thing to move.  Then once I started moving I was always veering to the left.  Its funny to see how as humans are brains are programmed.  In my mind, I was thinking use the handles to steer, but the handles are not for steering.  To turn on the bike you need to shift your body weight!  So it took me a little while to register with my slow brain!  When I got moving, I played around with the shifting of body weight to turn and by George...I got it!  Finally!  I will say that it was tiring and hard, but it is very cool once you get going!  You can even coast on it.  I have 4 more rentals at StreetStriderla so I will definately be doing it again!  I have an amateur video from my Iphone.  Enjoy!

Rowing...I am not sure if I was blogging back when I was rowing down in Long Beach.  But now that I am up in L.A. I found a place to do indoor rowing.  IrowFitness on La Ceinaga.  They offered and intro class on Saturday so I had to check it out.  I forget the instructors name, but he was very good at teach us the technique so we dont injure ourselves!  So this has rekindled my love for rowing!  The only thing I am not happy about, is the times they had group classes, I can't make it.  I am gonna see if they will implement a Saturday class!

So the eats:

Breakfast
     Coffee
     Fuji Apple

Lunch..a concoction of my mind!     For some odd reason, tomatoes & cucumbers had been on my brain.  My mind conjusred up dicing the two items together with some lemon juice, salt & pepper.  So my friends that is what I did.  Let me tell ya..it was the shiznit!
     1/4 of a cucumber
     1 whole tomato
      juice of 1/2 lemon
      salt & black pepper
Dinner: Skipped busy doing dinner & being domestic.  Didn't even think about eating.

Workouts
Streetrider (not sure of total minutes on it, I certainly did not stay on the bike for an hour)
     Indoor Rowing - 30 minures

Tried new App on my Iphone! I likey!

Wow..today was a struggle.  The day was going by oh so slowly at work.  It was really really painful!  But I was happy when the day was over.  Well I was iffy about my dress, but I got many compliments at work about it.  Many people said they liked it, so it made me less self conscious about wearing it.  I think I want a different shrug to wear with it.   So here is how the day went:

Breakfast
     French Vanilla Coffee

Mid Am Snack
     1/2 Grapefruit

Lunch
     Spinach & Chicken

Dinner
     Broccoli & Chicken

Product Recommendation:  Endomondo
So now to my new toy!  My brother sent me a while ago an app called Endomondo.   It tracks workouts and has a built in GPS so it tracks miles.  So I downloaded it today, and signed up, oh it's free by the way.  So I gave it a try at Kenneth Hahn Park Today.  It worked but not completely.  For some odd reason..it stopped tracking my walk.  I was kinda disappionted, but based on what I have seen of hte app I love it!  I think the problem is that when I am up at the Ken Han Park I lose signal cause I am up in the mountains.  But I will definately try it again!  THe app not only tracks walking/jogging, It has many activities on it.  I saw spinning, rowing, skiing, etc, so it is very functional.  I recommend it!

Workout
45 minutes walk @ Kenneth Hahn Park
Workout tracking from Endomondo here http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/k7CmE95IQD8

Now tomorrow shall be a day of fun filled activities.  I am trying the StreetStrider Bikes @ Venice Beach & I found a place here in L.A. that does indoor rowing.  So I am going to the intro class tomorrow!  So excited!

Sporting New Summer Dress

Well I made this dress purchase online last year from this plus size store in England.  Yes England!  I thought it was a cute dress and the price was very cheap, the only downside was waiting for shipping!  It took like a month.  But anywho, when I got hte dress, it didn't fit, it was too tight.  So today, my friends, I pulled out the dress and put it on.    So I ran into the bathroom at work so I can get a full length shot of the dress.  I like it, I know its awfully bold of me to wear horizontal zig zag stripes across my hips, but I don't care!  I like the dress and I will wear it.  Of course I think it would be so much cuter if my hips were smaller, and gosh darn it, one day they will be!

So if you have the patience to wait a month for delivery, Your Clothing in England has some cute stuff, and they are very reasonably priced.  Plus this way you will be wearing stuff that no one else will have here in the states!  :0)    Check them out...http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/

Wood Pulp...in our Food! SMH!

Hey gang...had to share this. As I continue to research and find things about our current food supply..I am just sickened by the things that companies & the FDA are doing with our food! This beloved article talks about Cellulose, which is basically a wood pulp that is in alot of pre-packaged food items!
Browse the article and check out the companies listed that is using the "Wood Pulp" in their products!

The Devil is @ Deutsche Bank!

LOL...I am cracking up!  One of the bankers brought in cookies today.  So one of my beloved co-workers walks by my desk and says, "There are cookies over by Susan".  I respond, Oh Okay.  She then responds, "Would you like me to get you one?"  To be polite I just said, "Sure", knowing full well I was not going to eat the durn cookie.  She comes back to my desk with a plate in hand and 2 cookies on it!

The Moral of the Story......Tempation lurks at every turn!  We must put up a resistance!  Which brings a song to memory, let me see if I can find it on youtube!  Ahh...I found it, Beres Hammond, Putting up a Resistance.  This is my theme song for the day. :0)

In case you are wondering, the cookies are safely nestled in a napkin and sitting on the bottom of my trash can!  Cause I am putting up a resistance!  :0)

Re-Inspired to keep it pushing!!

I am excited all over again!  I must admit this past weekend with 4th of July holiday I was beginning to dread dieting and I was gonna take a break.  Today was supposed to be my last day with my trainer and I was all ready to stop dieting and excercising and just enjoy myself.  But when I meet with Jen, she told me that she really wanted to see me meet my goal and offered me a deal of a life time.  A whole month of semi-private personal training for $100.   Yes a whole month...unlimited training!  I was so stoked!  I could not pass up the deal!  So I am back in the ring, ready to make this the fight of my life!  I've done pretty good so far...20 something pounds in 3 weeks with dieting & training with Jen.  So I am hoping for even more results over a 30 day period.  So I back in the gym with Jen tomorrow!

It's just another Manic Monday...

It's funny that I went to look this up on You Tube..cause I always sing the hook, Its just another Manic Monday...but didn't remember anything else of the song.  Anywho..it's a classic and worth posting to the blog.  Well today was definately a day.  At this very very second...I am not happy.  I am hurt, disappionted, in tears.  Sigh.  Anger is slowly creeping in, but I hurt.  It sucks to hope and trust  in something, well actually someone, and then be disappionted and be let down.  With no reason, no explanation, and its likely the person doesn't even care, doesn't even know they hurt you.

These are times I guess I can gain better understanding on why the bible don't put your trust in man!  In man there will always be disappiontments and let downs.  I know we are all human, and we all fall short.  But my heart can only take so much hurt and I can only take so many disappiontments.  What does one do?  So I sit here typing, crying, wondering why.  Why?  Why Why?

Breakfast
     Black coffee
     Left over greens

Lunch
     Lettuce
     Left over ribs from Lucille's
     Left over biscuit from Lucille's

Dinner
   Nothing

No workouts today.

Sassy Sexy Saturday....Whoa!

Howdy!  I only have one great thing to report to today. Today was my hair appointment day.  I took my braids out and got a weave.  This was my first attempt at doing a full weave.  And my, it was a long process. My appointment was at 9:30 am and I left the salon at almost 6pm!  Fret not...as much as I hated sitting that long...the end results...Very worth the wait!

So here is my amatuer shoot on my cell phone.  When I look at myself in this picture, I am even stunned.  I actually think I look pretty, which is something I rarely ever say about myself.  I sent the picture to my sister and of course, she brought me much amusement.  She calls it Magic hair and said I looked awesome.  She even used hte word Sexy!  That says alot coming from my beloved little sister.
Other than my long hair appointment, today was a good eat day.  Of course it helped that I spent all day in the beauty salon, I couldn't eat anything.  So here we go:

Breakfast:  7-11 French Vanilla Coffee

Mid Am Snack/Lunch:  Apple

Dinner:  Chicken & Spinach

Morning Workout:  Leg Presses, Back & Side Extensions, Overhead Arm Presses.  30 minutes Treadmill.  1.64 miles completed 364 calories burned.

I am debating on whether or not I will go back to the gym tonight.  I don't want to mess up my fly hair do!  TaTa.
